When Values Align

As a communications expert of over 15 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work across many issue areas and develop content to bring that topic to life. I have to say, my best work comes through when I focus my efforts on elevating issues that align with my values. This probably seems like a no-brainer. However, before building my firm, where I now can be selective about the organizations I offer support, I was once in charge of teams and leading projects on topics that were either foreign to me or not always value-aligned. As a result, the ideas, the synergy, and creativity suffered.

Your organization deserves a communications partner who can speak about your work with passion and expert knowledge. Your internal teams will thank you because for them this means less time bringing an external consultant up to speed on what the work is, why you do it, and who it impacts, and more time on having connected conversations that lead to new and fresh thinking, creative approaches, and humanized storytelling that catches the attention of your key audiences the first time.

The work of righting the wrongs of our country’s past comes with an innate desire to be a part of change, while also navigating the tumultuous political climates that this country has always faced - we are not in unchartered territory today. You will see your communications and marketing strategies come to life when you are thoughtful and intentional about choosing a subject matter expert who can keep your audiences engaged and coming back to you as a thought leader for more.

As a communicator, there are several areas that I have had the opportunity to master through my extensive work in affordable housing and sustainable communities. I believe that housing is the foundation from which most if not all social issues stem. When one does not have access to stable, affordable, and sustainable housing, everything else suffers, such as. decrease in academic success, loss of job and income, increase in health issues, etc. Because of this, I have used my expertise in housing to tap into bringing awareness and engagement from policymakers, funders, and other changemakers on the key areas of a community that help make it sustainable. Those key areas are access to successful schools, healthcare, job and economic stability, transportation, and childcare to name a few.

I would love to work with nonprofits, corporations, and changemakers addressing racial equity, health equity, access to education, affordable housing, and more. Let’s collab!
